Bee Control & Removal
Bees play a vital role in our ecosystem and wherever possible we prioritise safe, humane removal over treatment. Whether you have a swarm that has just landed or an established nest in a difficult location, we will assess the situation and advise on the best course of action — relocating the colony where we can, and only treating when genuinely necessary.
What's Involved
Identification & Assessment
We identify the species — honeybee, bumblebee, solitary bee, or masonry bee — and assess the size and location of the swarm or nest. This determines whether relocation is feasible or whether treatment is the only safe option.
Swarm Collection or Nest Relocation
Honeybee swarms are typically collected and rehomed with a local beekeeper. Where accessible and practical, established nests are relocated rather than treated. Bumblebee colonies are left undisturbed wherever possible as they are docile and the nest will naturally die off by autumn.
Treatment Where Necessary
When a nest is in an inaccessible location — inside a wall cavity or chimney stack, for example — or poses a genuine risk to occupants, we carry out a targeted insecticide treatment. We always use the minimum intervention required and advise on any follow-up proofing to prevent re-colonisation.
Signs You Have a Problem
- A cluster of bees on a branch, fence post, or structure — this is a swarm looking for a new home and needs prompt attention before they move into a cavity
- Large numbers of bees flying in and out of a gap in brickwork, a roof soffit, or an air vent, suggesting an established colony inside the building fabric
- A low humming sound coming from a wall, ceiling, or chimney breast, which can indicate a large honeybee colony within a cavity
- Visible bees entering and leaving the ground — bumblebees often nest in old rodent burrows or under garden sheds
- Bees becoming noticeably more aggressive near a particular area of your garden or building, which can indicate a disturbed or large colony nearby
Why Choose Us
Humane First Approach
We will always try to collect or relocate bees before considering treatment. Many British bee species are in decline and we take our responsibility seriously — treatment is a last resort, not a first response.
24/7 Emergency Call-Out
A bee swarm in the wrong place can be alarming, especially for young children or anyone with an allergy. We can respond quickly any time of day or night to assess the situation and make it safe.
